She left to spend a better part of 1999 exploring the mountains and cultures of the Far East, South America and Africa. With a
love for sport and passion for business, upon her return in 2000 she completed her undergraduate commerce degree and a B Com Honours in Sports Management at the University of Johannesburg.
It was at University that she took part in numerous sporting events and qualified as a sports massage therapist, spinning instructor and personal trainer. She worked in these fields for a well known cycling institution part time during her studies. She was also the sports masseuse for some prominent figures in South African cycling.
Whilst at university she also started a business helping manage executive's homes. Through her clients she gained her, her first formal job as the marketing officer of a non-governmental organisation. From there she went into the consumer side of marketing to launch an ice cream brand and then went into the position as brand manager for a well known French company operating in South Africa. She also worked as the marketing manager for a well known paint company. Her achievements in the role of marketing include launching brands, raising brand equity, launching new products, developing communications strategies, leveraging marketing assets to increase sales and streamlining marketing processes to achieve maximum efficiency.
She has also consulted on strategy in the marketing field for a number of small organisations. She aims to inspire and empower teams in order to achieve set objectives and continuously aims to link back to the business objectives.
Throughout her life Lisa has continued to explore her passion for physical exercise, the outdoors and people. She was a top finalist at Oprah's boot camp competition in 2006 and has completed events such as the half ironman triathlon, Kilimanjaro and numerous multi-day sporting events. She enjoys taking spinning and fitness classes and helping others become aware of what a valuable tool health and vitality is. With a desire to help empower and uplift others Lisa has volunteered for a number of charities and community initiatives including Reach For A Dream, The Princess Project, The Mweni Cultural Centre and The Starfish Foundation.
Following her divorce in 2006, Lisa underwent massive transformational change in many aspects of her life. Her desire to help others achieve balance, fulfilment and success in their lives was the basis for starting Life Inc.
Lisa, with an understanding that she is her own brand, approaches all aspects of her life through the key values of passion, integrity, innovation and results. In addition to being a coach, she runs a communications agency Ignition Consulting, presents to well known South African organisations on wellness and is a freelance writer for publications such as Shape, Oprah and The Journal of Marketing.
She spends her spare time being active outdoors, reading, writing, studying and concocting fabulously flavourful dishes for friends and family.
